If you want to study welding in South Africa, you do not automatically need Matric, previous welding experience or a Red Seal certificate. But you do need to choose the correct type of welding programme. That distinction is more important than almost anything else. The requirements for a beginner MIG course are not the same as the requirements for: advanced TIG; pipe welding; coded-welding preparation; an occupational welding qualification; ARPL; trade-test preparation; or Re
